This world leading, construction consultancy is seeking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their successful team based in BIRMINGHAM.  They employ over 3500 people across 120 offices and have a superb reputation for service and quality.

As part of a plan of structured growth they are now seeking to recruit a recently chartered Quantity Surveyor that is looking to carve out a successful career with a leading property and construction practice.

They are looking for a well-rounded Quantity Surveyor with experience of providing PQS services to work on a range of high profile property sector projects. They will be working on high profile schemes for leading clients predominantly in the Residential and Health sectors.

The successful candidate will therefore be expected to have appropriately aligned delivery experience.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive Quantity Surveyor who can take responsibility for a varied workload, with the potential to act as the sole contact with clients. In addition, the candidate will be expected to embrace the opportunity of representing the company in the market place and will have the chance to undertake aspects of business development as part of their day to day requirements.

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline
  • A minimum of TWO years technical delivery experience gained within a consultancy or end client
  • Recently Chartered (MRICS)
  • Experience of feasibility and cost planning, procurement advice, tender documentation and post contract services
  • Experience of acting as Employers Agent (desirable but not essential)
  • Previously worked within a client-facing role, ensuring a high standard of technical delivery
  • Be capable of working on your own initiative and have good time/resource management skills
  • Experience of building long term relationships
  • The ability to identify and develop potential opportunities to secure more business for RLB
  • The ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
  • Willingness to travel within the UK on a regular basis
  • A track record of working with teams and differing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
  • A team player, outgoing, flexible, enthusiastic and ambitious
