My client is entering the next phase of a £2.6bn dollar project in the Communications arena and is expanding by recruiting a Regional Director based in Saudi/Riyadh.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES & FUNCTIONS: Empowered and accountable for the management and delivery of a very high profile Managed Service providing communications for a military customer in Saudi Arabia. Responsible for fulfilling the responsibilities under the terms and conditions of the contract issued by the UK Government on behalf of the Saudi Customer. Responsible for sound leadership and ensuring the professional conduct of the multi-functional service delivery team, this is likely to be from 50-90 in number, depending on the Region.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The regional team comprises multi-national staff and operates and maintains the Saudi Customers communications installations that are widely dispersed across Saudi Arabia.
The key responsibilities of the Regional Director are:
Ensuring efficient use of resources to deliver:
Effective leadership of the Managed Services staff deployed within the Region.
Continuous and high-level of Customer satisfaction.
High standard of operational management of the Saudi Customers communications network
High standard of maintenance of all equipment and buildings as required by the contract, including quality, health and safety in accordance with ISO standards
Fully accountable for the Regional budget.
Creation of co-operative working relationships with the Saudi Customer, UK MoD Liaison Officer and local sub-contractors.
To assist in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS (Internal/External/Meetings): The Regional Director is an important representative at the Regional level. The post-holder will be expected to manage effective business relationships with a wide stakeholder group including senior officers from the Saudi Customer and the UK MOD, as well as HR, Commercial and Finance Directors.
JUDGEMENT/DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY (Specific Responsibilities):
Empowered to commit the company within appropriate delegated financial limits.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION (Knowledge & Experience):
ESSENTIAL UK Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
Sound understanding of the concept of service provision.
Proven track record of leading large, multi-skilled and multi-cultural teams.
Sound knowledge and full experience of managing a large budget
DESIRABLE Business experience in the Defence Sector
Experience in delivery of telecommunications services
Experience of living or working in the Middle East
