Business Development Account Manager


Aerospace, Sales & Account Management

Based in Hertfordshire, my client is a fast-growing and ambitious company, looking to expand its client base and market share in German-speaking countries. Its core activity is the buying and selling of an extensive range of specialised fasteners for the global aerospace industry.

ROLE

Reporting to the Export Sales Director and you will be working with the Account Manager responsible for Germany, Austria and Switzerland (D-A-CH) and other territories. We are looking to double our turnover into the D-A-CH region within the next three years.

  • Visit existing and new accounts on a monthly basis
  • Identify, qualify and develop prospect customers
  • buying aerospace fasteners from a wide range of global suppliers to supply customer demand
  • preparing quotations and tenders in response to customer enquiries and following these up
  • processing customer orders and monitoring their timely fulfilment
  • driving business development activities
  • obtaining and documenting relevant market intelligence
  • administration to include data entry and analysis
  • actively developing relationships with both customers and suppliers
  • attend air shows / forums
  • other relevant duties as may be determined by the role

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • educated to degree level or relevant work experience
  • solid commercial experience selling or buying or ideally both
  • excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • exceptional numeracy & literacy
  • Fluency in German is essential - both written and spoken, to business level
  • ability to establish and maintain excellent customer and supplier relationships in an international sales context
  • good organisational and time management skills
  • excellent computer skills across MS Windows, in particular Excel, Outlook, Word
  • first-rate presentation skills
